The Beavers

The land that Larry Chadwick owns in Pittston, Maine is slightly over 100 acres.  The vast majority of it is covered in pristine forest.  At the heart of the property is a 10 acre "pond" that Larry literally dug out himself several decades ago.  It has long been the watering hole and home for a seemingly endless variety of fish and wildlife...including beavers.

Larry has an interesting (and often humorous) "love/hate" relationship with the beavers that live in and around the pond. Remember, this is a man who seriously loves animals.  All animals.  He goes way out of his way to help and nurture the wildlife on his vast property.  But he also loves trees.  He's planted hundreds of trees over the years; trees that take decades grow...and only a single night for a beaver to chew down.
